Antonio Moreno, age 86, of Uvalde Texas passed away surrounded by his wife & family Monday, May 17, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. Antonio Moreno was born on March 27, 1935 to Romolo Moreno and Maria Reyes in Cline, Texas. He is preceded in death by parents; Romolo and Maria Reyes Moreno, brothers; Richard, Marcos, Jose Moreno sisters; Arminda M. Luna, Maria Moreno, Elena Valdez, and Rosa M. Ballesteros. Mr. Moreno and his wife Sara (Mireles) Moreno were married for 66 years. As a father and grandpa, he was loved very much. Antonio was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and of the Santo Nombre Ministry. Mr. Moreno was employed by the Uvalde White Mines for 21 years and the Uvalde school district for 10 years. Antonio greatest passion in life was his music. As the lead singer in his Mariachi group, Antonio entertained thousands over a career that lasted a lifetime. Mr. Moreno was an avid out doors men, hunting and fishing when time permitted and enjoyed his pastime in his wood shop. He loved building furniture and bringing the life back into older pieces. One of his favorite things to do was coming home after a hard day was to sit on his sofa and play with his kids. He often said that he couldn’t wait to get home because spending time with his kids and grandchildren brought him so much joy. He loved them all and shared his feelings about this in his last days. Antonio Moreno will be missed most by his loving wife of 66 years, Sara Mireles, of Uvalde, Texas, sons, Antonio ( Julia) Moreno of Round Rock, Texas, Armando ( Estela Franco) Moreno of Uvalde, Texas, Juan Manuel (Kathy) Moreno, of San Antonio, Texas, daughters; Rosa Maria Moreno of Uvalde, Texas, Rachel (Louie) Carrazco of Uvalde, Texas, Rebecca (Don) Starnes of San Antonio, Texas, Angelica Maria Moreno, Pflugerville, Texas, 20-grandchildern, 31 great-grandchildren, also raised by Mr. Moreno Amanda Evens, Clarissa Ernst, Delicia Lerma, John Adams Moreno all of Uvalde, Texas Gentlemen servicing as Pallbearers; John Adams Moreno of San Antonio, Texas, Mark Anthony Moreno of Houston, Texas, Joseph Allen Moreno of Del Rio, Texas, Armando Moreno Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, Michael Lawrence Liedelke of San Antonio, Texas and Esequiel Antonio Aguero of Uvalde, Texas, Honorary Pallbearers; Victoria Carrazco of Austin, Texas and Liliana Isabel Moreno of San Antonio, Texas. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, 424 Geraldine Street, Uvalde, Texas. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, 424 Geraldine Street, Uvalde, Texas. A Scripture Service will follow at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, 424 Geraldine Street, Uvalde, Texas.
