Amparo Pena Canales, age 91, of Uvalde, Texas passed away of natural causes Monday, August 10, 2020 in Uvalde, Texas. Amparo Pena Canales was born in Uvalde, Texas on August 14, 1928 to Candelario Canales and Anita Pena. She is preceded in death by both her parents; Candelario Canales and Anita Pena Canales, Husband Leo Martinez, daughter, Helen Lorraine Martinez, brothers; Louis Canales, C.P. Canales, Jose Ruben Canales, sisters; Consuelo Romo, Hortencia “Tencha” Canales, Dolores Canales, Esperanza “Penny” Canales.
Amparo Pena Canales will be missed most by her loving sons; Leo Martinez Jr., of San Antonio, Texas, Charles Martinez, of Knippa, Texas, daughters; Linda Mae (James) Dreyer, of San Antonio, Texas, Priscilla Soto, Makayla Soto, Amy Cardenas, all of Uvalde, Texas, brother, Alfredo Canales, of New Llando, Louisiana. 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.
The Canales Family would like to thank everyone for their cooperation during this time as we allow only 50 percent capacity and required mask coverings during all services.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, 424 Geraldine Street, Uvalde, Texas.
A Graveside Service will also be held Wednesday, August 12, 2020. at 12:30 P.M. at Uvalde Catholic Cemetery, FM 481 at Reynosa Street, Uvalde, Texas.
Internment to follow at Uvalde Catholic Cemetery, 527 Lovers Lane, Uvalde, Texas.
Services are entrusted to Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, 424 Geraldine Street, Uvalde, Texas
