Carmen Ruiz's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carmen Ruiz, born July 8, 1974, in Crystal City, Texas, to Alfredo Medrano and Elia Gonzalez. Carmen passed away on Wednesday January 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, joy, and cherished memories.
Carmen was a devoted mother, sister, and grandmother. She is survived by her three sons: Martin Ruiz of Angleton, Texas; Andre Chapman and Mark Chapman of Uvalde; and one daughter, Elimarie Ruiz of Angleton. She is also survived by four grandsons: Dalmazio Ruiz, Aurelio Ruiz, Isreal Rodriguez, and Josiah Rodriguez, and two granddaughters: Angeliyah Ruiz and Zariyah Ruiz. Carmen was a loving sister to Griselda Medrano of Uvalde, Jose A. Medrano of San Antonio, and Gilberto Medrano of San Antonio.
Carmen was a passionate cook, having worked at Desi’s Restaurant, where she shared her culinary talents with those around her. She enjoyed spending time at the casino, playing loteria, taking selfies, and making lasting memories with her beloved friends and family. Shopping was also one of her favorite pastimes, and her warm and loving spirit touched all who knew her.
A devout Catholic, Carmen’s faith was central to her life. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Alfredo Medrano and Elia Gonzalez.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 12 PM to 9 PM. where a Rosary will take place at 7:00 P.M at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel of Serenity, located at 424 Geraldine Street, Uvalde, Texas.
Cremation is under the direction of Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home.
