I met Doris when she managed A-Action Bail Bonds when I was working as her sales representative at the Uvalde Leader-News. I would see Doris regularly as part of my work. She had a big heart for people and a keen interest in local history.
I remember when one of her kids got bit by a poisonous snake and remember her talking about that. She really loved her kids and family. I missed getting to see Doris after she left A-Action. In learning about Doris, I could tell she faced many challenges in life but she was never bitter but rather showed a great deal of grace to others.
Doris will be missed my many I am sure. I am glad I got to meet her. She fought the good fight. Rest in Peace Doris.
