Elia Arredondo's Obituary
Elia Arredondo, 75, of Uvalde, passed away peacefully at her home on April 16, 2025. She was born on February 24, 1950, in Uvalde, Texas to Arnulfo Arredondo and Elia Corona.
Elia dedicated much of her life to caring for others, working in child care and opening her heart and home as a foster parent to many children throughout the years. Her warmth, strength, and love left a lasting impact on everyone she cared for.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Mariana Garza and husband Joe of Edinburg; her grandchildren Emiliano Garza, Matthew Garza, and Makayla Garza; her brother, Richard Arredondo and wife Mary of Winters; and two sisters, Dolores A. Gutierrez and Rosemary A. Reyes, both of Uvalde.
Elia was known for her love of BBQs, music, and dancing. Her joyful spirit, generous heart, and unwavering faith as a devoted Catholic brought comfort and happiness to all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arnulfo Arredondo and Elia Corona.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, a Rosary will take place at 7:00 P.M. A Mass Service is set for 10:00 A.M, Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church., 408 Fort Clark Rd.
Cremation is under the direction of Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home
