Felicita Salinas Ramirez, 87, of Cotulla, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on May 7, 1938, in Cotulla, Felicita lived a long and meaningful life filled with love, faith, and deep devotion to her family. She was the beloved wife of Ramiro Ramirez, with whom she shared many cherished years of marriage.
She is survived by her two daughters, April Mancias and Aracelia Ruiz, and four grandchildren: Ariyah Mancias, Ryan Menchaca, Kenny Menchaca, and Elijah Menchaca. Felicita was blessed to watch her great-grandchildren grow, a joy and privilege she treasured deeply.
Felicita had a gift for nurturing—whether it was in her garden, in the kitchen, or in the hearts of her family. She found great happiness in gardening, sewing, and especially cooking for her loved ones. Her tamales and homemade jelly were family favorites, made with love and shared with pride.
Faith played a strong role in her early life, and she was actively involved with the Catholic Church in her younger years. Her spiritual foundation helped shape the values she carried throughout her life.
Family was everything to Felicita. She made a point to stay connected to her extended family, especially the children of her late brother and sister, ensuring the bonds of love remained strong even after loss.
She is preceded in death by her father, Santos Salinas; her brother, Eusebio Salinas; her sister, Leonor Ramirez; and her daughter, Maria Menchaca and her son Ruben Ruiz. Though she faced many losses in her lifetime, Felicita’s strength and compassion were unwavering.
Her warmth, her laughter, and her deep care for those around her will be dearly missed but forever remembered.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 P.M. on the same day.
