George Alberto Cervantez's Obituary
George Alberto Cervantez Sr., 67, of Carrizo Springs, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday January 13, 2025. He was born on March 1, 1957, in Catarina, Texas to Federico Cervantez and Dolores Castillo.
George was a dedicated father, brother, grandfather and a companion to Elsa Valdez, three sons; George Cervantez Jr. and companion Regina Cruz of Carrizo Springs and Joevanie Cervantez and wife Regina of Asherton, John Paul Martinez and companion Jeannette DeLeon of Katy, his sister, Dora Elia Santoya of San Antonio; and his four brothers, Federico Cervantez of Asherton, Jose Eduardo Cervantez of San Antonio, Hector Pablo Cervantez of San Marcos, and Melchor Sergio Cervantez of Asherton survive him. He was also a loving grandfather to his two granddaughters; Rebecca Mila Cervantez and Juliette Nicole Martinez, six grandsons; Ashton Jaymes Cervantez, Joevanie Cristian Cervantez and Ryan James Cervantez, Dezmond Rey Lumbreras, Kameron Kai Lumbreras and John Paul Martinez Jr.
George had a strong work ethic and spent many years working at Whitney Supply as well as in the carpentry field. Known for his skill as a handyman, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. One of his greatest joys in life was going hunting and fishing, as well as joking around with family and friends—a hobby he truly enjoyed throughout his life.
A devout Catholic, George is preceded in death by his parents, Federico and Dolores Cervantez, and his beloved wife, Rebecca Zuvia Cervantez.
The family will receive friends at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity on Wednesday January 22, 2025 from 12:00P.M to 9:00P.M. A Rosary will take place at 7:00P.M A Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 579 Crockett St, Asherton, Tx 78827 on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 10:00A.M.
Pallbearers will be; Alexander M. Santoya, Jose Cervantez Jr., Joel E Cervantez, Gabriel A. Cervantez, Javier E. Cervantez, Gavino A. Cervantez, Ricardo S. Cervantez, Ismael Munoz.
Cremation is under the direction of Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home.
George will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on through the love and cherished moments shared with his family and friends.
