Deacon Gilberto G. Salazar, age 82 of Uvalde, Texas passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020 in Uvalde, Texas. Deacon Gilberto G. Salazar was born in Harlingen, Texas on February 4, 1938 to Martin Salazar and Dolores Garcia-Salazar and was raised in Knippa, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents Martin & Dolores Salazar, brothers: Jesus (Margarita)Salazar, Juan (Rosa)Salazar, Vicente Salazar, Jose (Rosario) Salazar, sister; Raquel (Rey) Trevino and brother-in-law Segundo Trevino.
Deacon Salazar will be missed most by his loving wife of 58 years Florinda Salazar, sons; Alberto (Mary Frances) Salazar of Del Rio, Texas, Abel Salazar of Lubbock, Texas, Andres Salazar of Uvalde, Texas, brother, Enrique (Maria) Salazar of Uvalde, Texas, sister Lilia S. Trevino of Uvalde, Texas, grandchildren; SSG. Anthony Salazar of Minot, ND, Ashely Marie Salazar of Del Rio, Texas, Jacob Avery Salazar of Los Angeles, CA, sister-in-law, Dora Salazar, of Aurora, Illinois, and numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.
The Salazar family would like to thank everyone for their cooperation during this time as we allow only 50 percent capacity and required mask coverings during all services.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, 424 Geraldine Street, Uvalde, Texas.
A recitation of the Holy Rosary will also be held at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 15, 2020. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, 424 Geraldine Street, Uvalde, Texas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 2:30 P.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 408 Fort Clark Road, Uvalde, Texas.
Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, 527 Lovers Lane, Uvalde, Texas.
