Gloria R. Barrera, age 69 of Uvalde, Texas passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. Gloria R. Barrera was born in Uvalde, Texas on April 12, 1951 to Rosalio Rodriguez & Irene Perry-Rodriguez. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rosalio & Irene Perry Rodriguez, brothers; Rosalio Rodriguez Jr., Joe Rodriguez, Roy Rodriguez, sisters; Josie Rodriguez and Julia Rodriguez.
Gloria R. Barrera will be missed most by her loving husband of 50 years, Gilbert Barrera Sr., of Uvalde, Texas sons; Jason John Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas, Gilbert (Alicia Talamantez) Barrera Jr. of Uvalde, Texas, daughter, Erica Eliza (Gabriel Garza) Barrera of Uvalde, Texas, sisters; Esther Gomez of Uvalde, Texas, Dora Canales of Houston, Texas, Elva Hernandez of Uvalde, Texas, Andrea Zapata of Austin Texas, Linda Chapa of Corpus Christi, Texas, brother, Estevan (Stevie) Rodriguez of Uvalde, Texas, grandchildren; Manuel Barrera Fernandez Jr., John Gilbert Reyes, Derek Lee Rangel, Quirino Rangel III, Gilbert Armando Barrera III, all from Uvalde, Texas, niece, Letty Arezmenid of Uvalde, Texas nephews; Gilbert L. Barrera, Luis B. Portio Jr., Micheal A. Portio, Evan D. Garza, all of Uvalde, Texas, and many more nieces & nephews.
The Barrera family would like to thank everyone for their corporation as we follow 50 percent capacity during all services at the funeral home.
Visitation will be held on both Sunday, September 27, 2020 and Monday, September 28, 2020 from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home-Chapel of Serenity, 424 Geraldine Street, Uvalde, Texas
A recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow at 7:00 P.M., Sunday, September 27, 2020 and Monday, September 28, 2020 at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home-Chapel of Serenity, 424 Geraldine Street, Uvalde, Texas
A Mass of Christian Burial will also be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 29, 2020 Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Father Eddy Morales officiating, 408 Fort Clark Road, Uvalde, Texas
Cremation is under the direction of Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home.
