Deacon Hector Garcia's Obituary
Deacon Hector Valverde Garcia 82 of Uvalde died Monday June 19, 2023 at Kindred Hospital in San Antonio.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. both days at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home where a Rosary will begin at 7:00 P.M. both days. Mass is set for Friday, June 23, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Deacon Hector Valverde Garcia was an honorable husband and beloved father of three. Hector was an ordained deacon of the Uvalde Sacred Heart Catholic Church over 30 years and retired from First State Bank of Uvalde after more than 30 years.
He was born on December 7, 1940 in Uvalde to Consuelo Valverde and Antonio Cantu Garcia.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years; Maria Mireles Garcia of Uvalde, one son; John Joseph Garcia and wife; Michelle of Alaska, two daughters; Jessyca Garcia Cazares and husband; Juan, Jennifer Garcia Talavera and husband; PJ all of Uvalde, one brother; Armando P. Garcia of San Antonio, two sisters; Maria G. Esparza of Uvalde, Rosalinda Ornelas and husband; Ramiro of San Antonio. 8 grandchildren. 7 great grandchildren.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Sophia Talavera, Joaquin Cazares both of Uvalde, John Joseph Garcia of Alaska.
Pallbearers will be PJ Talavera, Army Talavera, Juan Cazares Sr., Juan Cazares Jr., Ricky Cazares all of Uvalde, Armando P. Garcia of San Antonio.
He is preceded in death by both parents; Consuelo Valverde Garcia and Antonio Cantu Garcia, one grandson; Jose Darian Cazares, four brothers; Antonio V. Garcia, Alfredo V. Garcia, Antonio C. Garcia, Jose Garcia, mother in law; Sabina Mireles, Celestino Mireles, sister-in-law; Irma Garcia.
