Humberto Guzman's Obituary
Humberto Guzman, age 87, of Brackettville, Texas, passed away on October 14, 2020, in Uvalde, Texas. Mr. Guzman was born in Laredo, Texas, on July 28, 1933, to Francisco and Cleotilde Guzman. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Roberto Guzman, Francisco Guzman, Cleotilde Sauceda and Alicia Esparza.
Mr. Guzman is survived by his sons, Humberto (Joyce) Guzman, from Loganville, Georgia and Guillermo (Maria del Rosario) Guzman, from Brackettville. He had five grandchildren: Angela M. (Ben) Norris, from Lawrenceville, Georgia and David D. Guzman, from Loganville. Also, Martin A. Guzman, Catarina C. Guzman and Miranda J. Guzman, from Brackettville.
In 1952, Mr. Guzman graduated from Martin High School in Laredo. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 until 1955. In May 1958, he married the love his life, Maria Eulalia Tijerina. They were married for 54 years. She preceded him in death on November 14, 2012.
Mr. Guzman earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A & I in Kingsville, TX, in 1968. He commenced his career as a teacher at St. Augustine High School and retired from Laredo Independent School District in 1993.
In December 2018, Mr. Guzman moved to Fort Clark Springs in Brackettville to be closer to family. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Church in Brackettville. Mr. Guzman will be missed by his family and friends.

Funeral Services are being handled by Hillcrest Funeral Home in Uvalde. Services are as follows:
October 30, 2020, Friday, Holy Rosary at St. Mary Magdalene Church at 7 pm, in Brackettville.
October 31, 2020, Saturday, Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalene Church at 10 am.
November 2, 2020, Monday, Graveside Service at 11:30 am, at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery, in San Antonio, TX.
