In Loving Memory of Irma Martinez
March 29, 1949 – June 2, 2026
Irma Martinez, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of Jehovah, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, at the age of 77.
Irma was born on March 29, 1949, in Knippa, Texas, to Jesus Cantu Rios and Margarita Flores. She lived a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and love. For many years, she worked as a cook on a ranch, where her talent for preparing meals and caring for others was evident to all who knew her. She found great joy in cooking for family and friends, always making sure everyone felt welcomed and cared for.
Irma was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and remained active in her congregation throughout her life. Her faith was a guiding force, and she was known for her kindness, generosity, and dedication to her spiritual family.
She enjoyed life's simple pleasures, including watching her favorite television shows such as The Golden Girls and Family Feud, taking walks around Walmart, and, most importantly, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.If anyone knew her they knew that her favorite color was purple. Her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by her family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Irma is survived by her loving children: Yvonne Moreno and husband Roberto; Yvette Silva and companion Ramon Gonzales; Daniel Silva and wife Tizoc Tenorio; Eduardo Medrano; and Armando Flores and wife Danielle.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Sandra Moreno, Jessica Galvan, Robert Vince Moreno, Vanessa Moreno, Adrianne Nichole Garcia, Ruben Angel Garcia, Nicholas Renee Gonzales, Amber Rae Gonzales, Victoria Marie Silva, Dominick Daniel Silva, Azanette Pacheco, Kaisha Points, Eduardo Medrano Jr., Kassandra Medrano, Tatiana Ayala, Elias Fernando Medrano, Aaliyah Yasmine Flores, Armando Jordan "MJ" Flores, Alexander Robert Flores and Aryahna Taylor Flores; as well as 23 beloved great-grandchildren who brought her immense pride and joy. Sisters:Dora Elia Morales and husband Antonio, Guadalupe Soraya Cruz and husband Jesse. Brothers: Jesus Xavier Rios and wife Cynthia,Walter Scott Rios and wife Filomena. She also had numerous nieces an nephews and many cousins.
Irma was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus Cantu Rios and Margarita Flores; her beloved son, David Silva; her granddaughter, Jordan Silva; and her sisters, Diana Samora and Maria Olivia Valverde.
A Visitation will be held Monday, June 8, 2026 from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, a prayer service will take place at 7:00 P.M.
Cremation is under the direction of Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home
Though her presence will be deeply missed, Irma's legacy of faith, love, compassion, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her family finds comfort in the many memories she leaves behind and in the hope of seeing her again.
