Isabel “Izzy” Rodriguez, age 50, of Uvalde Texas passed away Friday, July 16, 2021 in Uvalde, Texas. Isabel Rodriguez was born on July 31, 1970 in Pecos, Texas to Guadalupe Rodriguez and Ernestina Cervantez. He is preceded in death by both parents, Guadalupe Rodriguez and Ernestina Cervantez Rodriguez, brother, David Rodriguez.
Isabel Rodriguez will be missed most by his loving wife of 36 years, Sulema Rodriguez, of Uvalde, Texas, sons; Ernesto G. (Kimberly) Rodriguez, Miguel Antonio (Jessica) Rodriguez, of Uvalde, Texas, daughters; Myra Nicole (Louis) Landry, of Knippa, Texas, Kysa Monique (Jacob Gerth) Rodriguez, of Uvalde, Texas and 14 grandchildren, all of Uvalde, Texas, brothers; Jose Luis (Teresa) Rodriguez, of Uvalde, Guadalupe (Robin) Rodriguez, of Knippa, Texas, Jesus (Taide) Rodriguez, of South bay, Florida Estanisalo Rodriguez, Austin, Texas, sisters; Juanita Reyna, of Clewiston, Florida, Rosa Mirelez, La Pryor, Texas, Delifina (Joe) Diaz, of Knippa, Texas, Esmeralda (Johnny) Ruiz, of Utopia, Texas. Numerous family members who cared for him deeply.
Izzy battled with serious medical issues in recently showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile and incredible faith. He married his high school sweetheart, Sulema Rodriguez on June 10, 1989, in Knippa, Texas. Isabel “Izzy” Rodriguez joined the United States Air Force on December 5, 1989 and did his basic training in Telephone and Data Circuitry and Equipment Specialist in San Antonio, Texas. He was stationed in Hahn, Germany for 4 years. Among his brave awards are National Defense Service Metal, Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Outstanding Unit award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, 424 Geraldine Street, Uvalde, Texas.
