Jerry Don Leal
Jerry Don Leal, 63, of Uvalde, Texas, passed away on July 28, 2026, in Mission, Texas.
Jerry was born on January 24, 1963, in Uvalde, Texas, to Victor Gonzalez and Maria Leal. He spent much of his life in Uvalde, where he was known for his hardworking nature, love of family, and friendly spirit.
For 10 years, Jerry worked as a Quality Control employee for STX Beef, where he took pride in his work and the friendships he made throughout his career.
Jerry's greatest joy was his family. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and friends. He enjoyed watching sports and was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. He also found peace in gardening and loved being outdoors tending to his plants.
He is survived by his children, Lisa Leal of Uvalde, Norma Ramon of Uvalde, Jerry Don Leal Jr. of Odem, and Jeremy Leal of San Antonio. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Raelynn Ramon, Eyanah De La Garza, Eboni De La Garza, Alaysia Contreras, Kamila Leal, Jerry Don Leal III, Jordy Leal, Jeremy James Leal Jr, Nickolas Don Leal, and Olivia Leal; and one great-grandchild, Sergio Lopez Jr.
Jerry is also survived by his siblings, Sandra Matias, Daisy Gonzalez, Gracie Ortiz, Johnny Adams, and Joey Leal, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends who will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor Gonzalez and Maria Leal.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2026 from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, a Rosary will take place at 7:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial is set for 10:00 A.M, Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church., 408 Fort Clark Rd.
Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Jerry will be remembered for his kind heart, his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the happiness he found in life's simple pleasures. His love, laughter, and presence will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
