Jesus Lopez Ortiz, age 74 of Uvalde, Texas passed away surrounded by his family Saturday, September 26, 2020 in Uvalde, Texas. Jesus Lopez Ortiz was born in Mexico on December 28, 1945 to Jesus Dolores Ortiz & Josefina Lopez- Ortiz. He is preceded in death by his parents; Jesus Dolores Ortiz & Josefina Lopez-Ortiz and sister, Juanita Becerra.
Mr. Ortiz will be missed most by his loving wife of 50 years, Maria H. Ortiz., of Uvalde, Texas sons; Jose F. (Sandra) Ortiz of San Antonio, Texas, Jose A. (Lydia Ortiz) Ortiz of Uvalde, Texas, daughters; Claudia (Josue) Ibarra of Knippa, Texas, Margarita Flores of Uvalde, Texas, Elizabeth (Ruben) Morales of Uvalde, Texas, brothers; Manuel Ortiz of Uvalde, Texas, Martin Ortiz of Uvalde, Texas, Jacinto Ortiz of Chicago, Il, Jose G. Ortiz of North Dakota, Pedro Ortiz of San Antonio, Texas, sisters; Beatrice Velasquez of North Dakota, Rosa Maria Velasquez of Crystal City, Texas, Consuelo Sandoval of Uvalde, Texas, 18-grandchildren, 14-great-grandchildren and many numerous & nephews.
Mr. Ortiz was the proud owner of Ortiz Boot and Shoe repair for more than 30 years. His pride and joy was meeting with members of the community daily to provide a service he loved.
The Ortiz family would like to thank everyone for their corporation as we follow 50 percent capacity during all services at the funeral home.
Visitation will be held on both Tuesday, September 29, 2020 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home-Chapel of Serenity, 424 Geraldine Street, Uvalde, Texas
A recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home-Chapel of Serenity, 424 Geraldine Street, Uvalde, Texas
A Mass of Christian Burial will also be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 30, 2020 Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Father Eddy Morales officiating, 408 Fort Clark Road, Uvalde, Texas
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Uvalde, Texas
