I have leased hunting pastures from Joe for the past 30 years. But more than that, joe was my good friend for that same time. Both my boys practically grew up on the York ranch. To me Joe stood for decency and goodness and could tell stories better than anyone I know.
I will miss him!

My condolences to Mary Sue and all the York family. Joe was such a kind man and good friend to my grandmother( JLee Ballantyne and my parents Susie and Hollis Brice ) and our family. We all spent a lot of time together in our younger years in Brackett. He did many many wonderful loving things for the community of Brackettville . He will be truly missed.

Our deepest sympathy to Mary Sam and all the York family. My first memories are
of Joe when he and Mary Sam were in high school and I was in the 1st or 2nd grade.
He was a cowboy, and slender, handsome, and always very polite.
Joe was always nice to everybody.
Our love, Betsy & Ed Himmel
