Jose Hector Cordova's Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of José Hector Cordova, who left us on February 11, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on May 19, 1946, in Uvalde, Texas, he was the son of Estanislado Cordova and Maria DeJesus Martinez.
José was a devoted father and grandfather, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. He is survived by his two sons, Michael Cordova and his wife Jo Ann of Illinois, and Johnny Joe Cordova and his companion Virginia Flores of Florida. He is also survived by his five daughters: Yvonne Sanchez of Uvalde, Laura Cordova Delgado and her husband Alfonso of Uvalde, and Angela Cordova and her companion Felipe Reyna of Uvalde, Lydia Salazar of San Antonio, Elia Salazar of Uvalde three sisters; Lydia Coronado, Isabel Rodriguez, Maria Martinez and husband Andreas Martinez. José was a proud grandfather to multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he cherished deeply.
In his professional life, José worked in construction, where he built a reputation for his hard work and craftsmanship. Outside of work, José had many passions. He was an avid fan of football, especially the Seahawks, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Whether he was woodworking, completing crossword puzzles, or hosting BBQs, José’s home was always filled with laughter and joy. He was a lifelong Catholic, whose faith guided him throughout his life.
José was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anabelia Cordova; his son, Joey Cordova Jr.; two son-in-laws, Hector Gomez and Juan Sanchez; his brother, Francisco Cordova; and his brother-in-law, Armando Coronado.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, a Rosary will take place at 7:00 P.M. A Graveside Service is set for 10:00 A.M, Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Hillcrest Cemetery, 527 Sgt. Joey Alvarez Ln. Uvalde, Tx 78801
José Hector Cordova will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his passion for life, and his generous spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and hard work that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Rest in peace, José. You will be greatly missed.
