Obituary for Josefina Ledesma Maldonado
Josefina Ledesma Maldonado passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. She was born on April 10, 1950, in Salinas, California, to Jose O. Ledesma and Maria De Los Angeles Gutierrez.
Josefina lived a life centered on family, service, and community. She dedicated many years of hard work to several organizations throughout her life, including Del Monte Corporation, Williamson-Dickies, Amistad Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, UCISD Cafeteria, and Zavala County Bank. Through her work and daily life, she built lasting friendships and touched many lives with her kindness and strong work ethic.
She had a deep love for cooking and was happiest when sharing meals with family and friends. Josefina also enjoyed sewing, gardening, and traveling. She gave generously of her time volunteering and supporting community activities, including the Sahawe Dancers, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts. Her involvement helped create meaningful experiences for many young people and families in the community.
Josefina is survived by her loving children: Jorge L. Maldonado and spouse Alma Rangel of La Pryor; Reynaldo L. Maldonado of Uvalde; Jovita L. Maldonado of Uvalde; Ruben Jaime Maldonado and wife Jenni R. of Uvalde; and Ramiro L. Maldonado and wife Jennifer Z. of Lytle. She is also survived by her brothers: Juan Ledesma and wife Luz Elena of DeRidder, La; Jaime Ledesma and wife Ninfa of La Pryor Tx; Ricardo Ledesma of Houston Tx; Patricio Ledesma and wife Natividad of Kerrville Tx; and Jose Ledesma and wife Maria Dolores of Big Wells Tx.
Josefina was a proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose O. Ledesma and Maria De Los Angeles Gutierrez; and her husband Reynaldo O. Maldonado her sisters Amanda Ledesma Ramirez, Teresa Garza, Anita Ledesma, and Veronica Ledesma; her beloved daughter Raquel Maldonado Tiedtka.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, a prayer service will take place at 3:00 P.M.
Cremation is under the direction of Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home
Josefina will be remembered for her generous heart, her devotion to family, and the warmth she shared with everyone she met. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the loving family she leaves behind.
