Larrissa Baca Mendez's Obituary
Larrissa Baca Mendez, age 51, of San Antonio, formerly of Uvalde, TX, passed away unexpectedly on May 12, 2025—leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and strength that will never be forgotten.
Larrissa devoted her life to caring for others. She found her calling in healthcare, where her gentle spirit and dedication made a real difference in the lives of so many.
Above all, Larrissa was a loving mother to her two children, Lisette and Jacob Mendez, who were her greatest joy.
She was the beloved daughter of Letty and Greg Rodriguez, a cherished sister to Aaryn Hernandez and her husband Joey Hernandez, and a loyal friend to many. She also leaves behind a large extended family who loved her deeply--numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who will always remember her for her sweet spirit and unforgettable laugh.
Larrissa grew up in the Assembly of God Church, and her faith was a quiet but steady source of comfort throughout her life. As we grieve her passing, we cling to the words of Jesus in John 11:25-26:
“I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
We find peace in knowing that she is now resting in the eternal arms of grace.
Larrissa was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother and grandfather, Alma Lugo Costilla and Enrique Rangel and other loved ones who welcomed her into Heaven. Her absence leaves an unfillable space here on Earth, but we find comfort in knowing she’s reunited with those she loved and missed so dearly.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 5:00 P.M to 9:00 P.M and Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, where Funeral Service will take place on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 4:00 P.M.
