Maria Portillo Garcia, age 90, of Uvalde, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 in Uvalde, Texas. Maria Portillo Garcia was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, on August 31, 1930 to Refugio Portillo and Guadalupe Martinez. She is preceded in death by both parents, Refugio Portillo and Guadalupe Martinez, husband, Antonio C. Garcia, son; Antonio P. Garcia Jr., brothers; Juan Portillo, Antonio Portillo, Pedro Juarez Martinez, son in law; Gilbert Esparza.
Maria Portillo Garcia will be missed most by her loving daughter; Maria G. Esparza, of Uvalde, Texas, sons; Armando Garcia, of Universal City, Texas, Jose (Irma L.) Antonio Garcia, of Uvalde, Texas, brother; Julio Alejandro Martinez, of Mexico, sisters; Rosalia Juarez Martinez, Josefina Juarez, both of Mexico, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
The Garcia Family would like to thank everyone for their cooperation during this time as we allow only 30 percent capacity and required mask coverings during all services.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Tranquility, 424 Geraldine Street, Uvalde, Texas.
A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Tranquility, 424 Geraldine Street, Uvalde, Texas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 408 Fort Clark Road, Uvalde, Texas.
Interment will follow at 527 Sgt. Alvarez Lane, Uvalde, Texas
