In Loving Memory of Maximo Castillo Mendoza

Maximo Castillo Mendoza, age 78, of Uvalde, Texas passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025. He was born on August 21, 1947, in Mexico to the late Victoriano Mendoza and Rafaela Castillo.
Maximo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Gloria Leticia Mendoza. Together, they built a strong and loving family. He is also survived by his children: Maximo Mendoza Jr. and wife Lorena, Nancy Mendoza, Brenda Mendoza, and daughter-in-law Enedelia Mendoza.
He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Monzerrath Mendoza, Brooke Brown, Gabrielle Brown, Diego Luna, Christian Luna, Clarissa Mendoza, Cristal Mendoza, and Cesar Mendoza Jr., as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who brought joy to his life.
Maximo worked in the oil field for many years, but his true passion was the cowboy life. A genuine vaquero at heart, he loved spending time on the ranch, tending to his horses and goats, and working the land. The simple pleasures of rural life brought him peace and fulfillment.
A man of strong faith, Maximo was a Christian who lived his life with humility, strength, and a deep love for his family and community.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, a prayer service will take place at 7:00 P.M.A funeral service is set for 1:30 P.M, Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, 424 Geraldine St. Uvalde, Tx 78801
Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved son, Cesar Mendoza. While his absence leaves a deep void, his memory, legacy, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
