Pedro F. Cordova Jr.'s Obituary
Pedro F. Cordova, Jr. , age 81, was a lifelong resident of New Braunfels. He went to be with our Lord on Monday, March 4, 2019 surrounded by his beloved family. He was born March 31, 1937 in New Braunfels to Pedro Cordova, Sr. and Soledad Fuentes Cordova. Pedro married Elvira Sanchez on August 28, 1959 in New Braunfels.
He worked with West Point Pepperell for 48 years. Pedro was a Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church where he thoroughly enjoyed serving as an usher for many years. He was a member of the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Pedro was a longtime member of the Union Funebre De Padres Familiares of New Braunfels.
Pedro was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Victor Cordova and Felix Cordova; sisters Carmen Leos, Consuelo Cantu, Jovita Flores and Francisca Luna
He is survived by his beloved wife Elvira Cordova; son Peter Cordova and his wife Adelita of New Braunfels; daughters Judy Valadez and her husband Gustavo of New Braunfels, Denise Twomey and her husband Coner of London, England; sister Senaida Martinez of New Braunfels; grandchildren Cory Daniel Cordova, Gustavo Valadez, III, Collette Valadez, Savannah Valadez, Jordan Valadez, Christy , Ryan and Dylan Twomey; seven great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews .
The family will receive friends Monday, March 11, 2019 beginning at 9:30 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 245 S. Hidalgo Ave. A rosary will be recited at 10:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Ralainirina Francois Rakotovoavy, M.S.F. as celebrant. Serving as pallbearers will be Cory Daniel Cordova, Gustavo Valadez, Jr., Gustavo Valadez, III, Jordan Valadez, Henry Paredez and Leonard Leos. Cremation will follow.
A reception will be held at Holy Family Hall immediately following the services.
