Petra Guillen Fuentes
Petra Guillen Fuentes passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025. She was born on January 31, 1937, in Mexico to Demetrio Guillen and Dolores Moyeda.
Petra was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life centered on faith, family, and service to others. A lifelong Catholic, she lived her faith through kindness, generosity, and compassion. She was known as a very kind woman who was always willing to help wherever she could.
Petra had a deep love for cooking and worked as a cook for many years, a role she truly enjoyed. She took great joy in preparing meals for her family and friends and sharing what she made with everyone around her. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, love, and togetherness. She also loved plants and found joy in caring for them, nurturing life with the same patience and love she showed her family.
She was a dedicated and loving wife, caring for her husband faithfully until his last breath. Her devotion to her family was evident in everything she did.
Petra is survived by her daughter, Blanca Fuentes Gomez; her grandchildren, Bianca Fuentes, Eric Gomez, Rockey Gomez, April Lopez, Angelia Fuentes, Ida Steely, Elvira Fuentes, Pedro Fuentes, and Ab elardo Fuentes; and 24 beloved great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Demetrico Guillen and Dolores Moyeda; her beloved husband of 69 years, Abelardo Fuentes.; and her son, Abelardo Fuentes Jr.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 10:00 A.M. to 10:50 A.M. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial is set for 11:00 A.M, Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church., 301 S Ann St, Brackettville, Tx 78832.
Interment to follow at Brackettville Cemetery.
Petra Guillen Fuentes will be remembered for her loving heart, her generosity, her devotion to family, and the countless meals she shared as an expression of her love. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched.
