Refugia Mancha Aguilar, 81, of Uvalde, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on September 17, 1944, in Uvalde, Texas, Refugia was the cherished daughter of Cleto Mancha and Genoveva Fuentes. A devoted homemaker, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life—solving crossword puzzles, spending time with her family, and living her Catholic faith with quiet strength and grace.
Refugia was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her two children, Jessica Ibarra and husband Alejandro, and Jesse Aguilar and wife Maria. Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren: Kayla Ibarra, Amaya Ibarra, Ryan Ibarra, Jesse Aguilar, Jenisa Martinez, Julie Aguilar, Julian Aguilar, and Jesus Aguilar, as well as her two great-grandsons, Nicholas Emiliano Aguilar and Noah Domingo Aguilar.
She is also survived by her sister Josefa Cervantes and her brother Cleto Mancha Jr., along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved her dearly.
Refugia was preceded in death by her parents, Cleto and Genoveva; her loving husband of many years, Julian Aguilar; her brothers Evaristo Mancha, Juan Mancha, and Edwardo Mancha; and her sisters Maria Ruiz, Anastacia Mancha, and Ernestina Rangel.
Her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, a Rosary will take place at 7:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial is set for 10:00 A.M, Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church., 408 Fort Clark Rd.
Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
