Reginaldo M. Romo Jr., age 87, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025. He was born on September 18, 1938, in Uvalde, Texas, to Reginaldo M. Romo Sr. and Consuelo Canales.
A devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Reginaldo is survived by his children Ray A. Romo of San Antonio and Melba Romo of Converse, Texas; his beloved grandchildren, Dr. Candace Romo and her husband Noe Tovar, and Joseph A. Romo, both of San Antonio; and three cherished great-grandchildren, Violet Varela, Tyrian Varela, and Jude Tovar.
He is also survived by his brothers, Ruben Romo and wife Gracie of San Antonio, and Eloy Joe Romo of Brackettville; as well as his sisters, Elsie Gibbons and husband Lee of Belton, and Esther R. Treviño, both of Uvalde.
Reginaldo was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert C. Romo, and his beloved wife of many years, Belia Ruiz Romo.
A proud business owner, Reginaldo ran Uvalde Dayton Tire and Furniture for many years, serving his community with dedication and integrity. He had a deep love for the outdoors—especially hunting and fishing—and he treasured family gatherings filled with laughter, food, and stories. A lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Reginaldo rarely missed a game and cheered them on with enthusiasm.
He will be remembered for his hard work, sense of humor, deep love for his family, and the warmth he brought to every gathering. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
