Rodolfo "Rudy" Castillo Sr.
Rodolfo "Rudy" Castillo Sr., 56, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, at Methodist Richardson Medical Center. He was born on August 12, 1969, in Uvalde, Texas, to Guillermo Alfredo Castillo Sr. and Maria Guadalupe Martinez.
Rudy was an Electrical Technician who took great pride in his work and was known for his mechanical skills and ability to fix just about anything. He enjoyed playing pool, rebuilding cars, working on mechanics, and, above all, spending cherished time with his grandchildren. He shared 26 loving years with his spouse, Julia Castro, and treasured the life they built together.
Rudy is survived by his loving parents, Guillermo Alfredo Castillo Sr. and Maria Guadalupe Martinez of Uvalde, Texas; his beloved spouse, Julia Castro; his children, Marina Canada of Cache, Oklahoma; Celena Castillo and companion Jessica Moore of Scott Air Force Base, Illinois; Rodolfo Castillo Jr. and companion Krystal Nuipok of Fort Eustis, Virginia; Juanita Gutierrez and husband Mario of Mesquite, Texas; and Ernesto Serrata Jr. of Mesquite, Texas.
He is also survived by his siblings: Alfredo Castillo Sr. and wife Gina of Uvalde, Texas; Jacob Castillo and wife Cassie of Kingsville, Texas; Ofelia Martinez of Uvalde, Texas; Anthony Castillo of Uvalde, Texas; Claudia Falcon and husband Roy of Brackettville, Texas; and Guillermo A. Castillo Jr. of Grand Prairie, Texas.
Rudy leaves behind his treasured grandchildren: Johnny Canada, Ariyah Canada, Breyson Severns, Kameron Severns, Kingsley Castillo, Adrian Alardin Jr., Santiago Gutierrez, Mateo Gutierrez, Natalie Serrata, and Samantha Serrata. He is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alberto and Elvira Castillo; his maternal grandparents, Felix and Ofelia Martinez; his uncle, Jorge Luis Castillo; and his nephew, John Paul Castillo.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, July 25, 2026 and Sunday, July 26, 2026 from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, a Rosary will take place both days at 7:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial is set for 10:00 A.M, Monday, July 27, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church., 408 Fort Clark Rd.
Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Rudy will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of family, his willingness to lend a helping hand, and the joy he found in working with cars and spending time with those he loved. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
