Ronald Reinhold Raeszler's Obituary
Ronald Reinhold Raeszler, born March 29, 1949, passed away on December 15, 2025, of natural causes. Ron lived a fulfilling and inspiring life, marked by service, compassion, and a deep love for family and community.
Throughout his career, Ron served as a probation officer in two counties in Texas, a counselor, and later as a program director at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Hondo Unit. His work reflected his belief in accountability, rehabilitation, and the inherent worth of every individual he encountered.
Ron loved to go fishing and travel. He cherished time spent in Hood Canal, Washington, and in Panguitch, Utah. In retirement, he also found great joy working with the funeral homes in Uvalde, Texas, especially Hillcrest Funeral Home where he felt loved and cherished. This work held special meaning for him, and Uvalde became a place he truly called home. Ron formed many lasting friendships there and cared deeply about the community and the people in it.
Ron grew up on a farm in rural Beulah, North Dakota, and remained very proud of his family heritage throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Renata Raeszler (Mother), Toni Raeszler (Stepmother), and Reinhold Raeszler (Father).
He is survived by his son Jeremy (Tammy) Raeszler of Las Vegas, Nevada; his daughter Jennifer (Chris) Steiner of Fargo, North Dakota; his beloved grandchild, Julia Steiner of Fargo, North Dakota; his sister, Norma (Bob) Stewart of Lafayette, Louisiana, stepsisters Myra (Scott) Savelkoul of Hazen, North Dakota, and Muriel Soule of Mandan, North Dakota and his stepbrother Leroy Miller. Ron is also survived by his ex-wife and friend Pamela Flieth of Pharr, Texas, and his ex-wife Elane Raeszler of Waco, Texas.
Ron will be remembered for his kindness, his steady presence, and his lifelong commitment to serving others. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply.
The memorial service will be held at the Uvalde Methodist Church at 301 N. High Street in Uvalde, Texas, on [TBD].
