Stephen Allen Roft's Obituary
Stephen Allen Rolf born November 19, 1951 to the late Hattie Frances Rolf and Raymond Bernard Rolf in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by Gary R. Rolf and William F. Rolf and survived by Regina L. Koon, John B. Rolf and Lisa A. Boardman.
Steve passed away on July 16, 2026 in the floodwaters in Uvalde, Texas.
He was raised in the Catholic faith and graduated from the Catholic High School in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Steve began his career with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department. He later earned a degree in education and taught at a High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. Answering a call to serve his country, he then enlisted in the United States Army, where he served proudly before receiving an honorable discharge.
Following his service, Steve lived in Florida where he worked in the state prison system before relocating to Alpine, Texas. He attended Sul Ross State University to prepare for a career with the United States Border Patrol. During this time, he also became fluent in Spanish, a skill that enriched both his career and the many friendships he formed throughout South Texas.
Later, his career in trucking brought him to Uvalde, Texas, where he planted his roots in the community and on the country acreage outside of town that he proudly called home.
He loved the mild climate of Uvalde and found great joy in speaking Spanish with the wonderful friends he made at the Elderly Uvalde Nutrtion Center.
Steve leaves behind many dear friends in Uvalde and all his family in Arkansas, all of whom will miss him dearly.
Cremation is under the direction of Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home.
