Uvaldo Tames' Obituary
Uvaldo “Sarg” Tames, age 84, of Uvalde, Texas passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Tames was born in Bishop, Texas to Manuel Tames and Paula Ortiz-Tames. He is preceded in death by both parents; Manuel Tames and Paula Ortiz-Tames, spouse; Gloria De La Rosa Tames, brothers; Francisco Tames, Alejandro Tames, Jesus Tames, sisters; Sofia Garcia, Lupita Tames, Genoveva Lerma, Dolores Beltran.
Sarg as he was commonly known by many was a Vietnam veteran who retired from the United States Army at the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Tames was awarded the Purple Heart for his duty. Sarg had many friends and enjoyed
watching the Dallas Cowboys on Sundays.
Mr. Tames will be missed most by his sons; Joseph Michael (Deana Lyn) Tames, of California and Richard Tames, daughter; Jennifer Lynn (Barry Steenson) Tames, of Kansas, sister; Maria Antonia Tinney, of Virginia, granddaughters; Sandra Castro, of Round Rock, Texas, Samantha Josephine Tames and Ana Christian Tames, both California, Kristina Tames, Kaitlin Herrick and Lexi Steeson, all of Kansas, grandsons; Ryan Herrick (Alyssa) and Wyatt Steeson, both of Kansas, great granddaughter; Penelope Lily Tames, of California and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, Chapel of Serenity, 424 Geraldine Street, Uvalde, Texas.
