Obituary for Valentin Villanueva Jr.
Valentin Villanueva Jr., beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on December 6, 2025. He was born on April 15, 1956, in Taos, New Mexico, to Valentin Villanueva Sr. and Marina Ortiz.
Valentin spent many years helping to run the family business, People Café, where he welcomed countless friends, neighbors, and visitors with kindness. He was also a gifted artist who found joy and expression through his creativity.
He is survived by his brothers, Ruben Villanueva and Gonzalo Villanueva Sr., as well as numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Valentin was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Carlos Villanueva; and his wife, Joyce McNal-Villanueva and sister Guadalupe Villanueva.
Valentin will be remembered for his generosity, his quiet strength, and the love he shared with his family and community. His presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
Cremation is under the direction of Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home.
