Weldon Lee Haynes' Obituary
Weldon Lee Haynes, age 86, of Uvalde, Texas passed away Friday, October 29, 2021 in Uvalde, Texas. Weldon was born in Granbury, Texas on November 18, 1934 to Walton Lee Haynes and Merle Dorethy. He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. Walton Lee & Merle D. Haynes.
Mr. Haynes is known throughout the world for his time as the “Marlboro Man” from 1968 to 1970, Weldon posed for billboards across the country as the sole representation of the brand Marlboro. He also spent his whole life as a cowboy taming horses on a ranch and was a very simple man who dedicated himself to ranching and his family.
Weldon will be missed most by his loving son; Scott Haynes of Granbury, Texas brother; Pete Haynes of Rockport, Texas, his dear friend Connie Rodriguez of Sabinal, Texas and many more friends in Sabinal, Texas.
A Private Service will be held at a later date.
Cremation under the direction of Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, 424 Geraldine St., Uvalde, Texas.
