My deepest condolences to everyone who’s soul was ever touched by Zayra. She was a beautiful girl, whom I’m glad I was able to meet, and talk with in some of my own darkest of days. She was a great friend, a great confident, someone you always wanted to be around. I met her on the bus one day, as we were on our way home from school, I was in the 8th grade, and she was in high school. The “cool kids” sat in the back of the bus, that’s where I met her, and at first, she was quiet, reserved. But I’m glad we were able to start conversations, and give each other a good laugh now and then. There wasn’t a moment we spent together that I ever felt sad, or lost. There were always things going on in both of our lives, things that we didn’t agree with, or things that we didn’t like, but we put those things aside, and for a moment, it’s like all of our problems were nonexistent. Over the years, we drifted apart, but she will forever be held in my heart.
