A fond memory I have of Jack is when he would join us for holiday meals! He enjoyed Maurine’s cooking very much, sometimes so much so that there would be not a leftover to be had! I also remember him riding to town with us when Dada would go into Sabinal for afternoon errands. He always greeted everyone with a warm smile and a friendly hello!

I remember when Jack came to the farm I was in grade school & Daddy not only gave him a job but a place to call his home. He loved what he did & after Dad retired Jack continued with his love of horses with Danny Pish at Retama. I think he really enjoyed the racetrack & in a short time everyone knew Jack at Retama. There were great stories over the decades about Jack and the people he called family. Darlene (Lou) Oliphant-Woodward
